Feels Like Home
I love shopping.. don’t you? And buying a home shouldn’t be any different! Yes, it’s a big purchase, but it is also a VERY exciting one so do not lose sight of that feeling by letting stress take over.
Talk the the neighbours in the area and ask them if they have any concerns about the community as a whole. Don’t be shy; they will speak the truth! You may even want to look into attending community meetings to see what issues they bring up as well.
Go ahead and drive through the neighbourhood during both the day and nighttime so you can have a better idea of the traffic rush, party houses or maybe even the late-night train. If you are going to be living in the neighbourhood, you will not get a better idea of what it’s TRULY like than by passing through at different times of the day!
Find out if there is any kind of building scheme in the neighbourhood that would be restricting you on building a garage; the fence size and design; or even the home’s exterior paint colour. You never know! All of these can be found out beforehand through the Title Certificate of the specific property.
BE COOL IN SCHOOL:
Locate the nearby schools and fire halls of the possible future property. Location is important and you will want to be close to them, but for noise level reasons, you certainly will not want them directly in your backyard.
Walk Scores are GREAT! They can easily tell you how close your home is to a number of important amenities such as schools, shopping, banks, restaurants, libraries and places of worship. No need to drive everywhere when you can take a nice stroll with the entire family and soak up the fresh mountain air! Visit www.walkscore.com, enter your address and find out what YOUR score is!
